Mapping Bangalore
Mapping Bangalore is our immersive, map-based learning series — curated, paid experiences that get people out of the seminar room and onto the floor, literally walking across large-scale projected maps of the city. Designed and facilitated by Mod Foundation, hosted right here at BLR Design Centre. Book Walk on BLR or Tanks to Taps on its own, or club it with a talk, workshop or private hire for a fuller day.

Experience 01
Walk on BLR
Discover how Bengaluru grew over time—from its earliest settlements and planned neighbourhoods to its expanding urban landscape. Explore archival maps, photographs and narratives that reveal the city’s changing form, identity and character.
- Early cartographic representations of Bengaluru from the 18th century onwards
- The growth of key institutions, industries and neighbourhoods
- Major planning decisions and their long-term impact on the city
- Timelines of urban expansion and transformation
Experience 02
Tanks to Taps
Trace Bengaluru’s water story — from the historic tanks and lakes that once defined the city to the taps that supply it today. A walk through water history, civic memory and the choices that shape a city’s relationship with a fragile resource.
- Bengaluru’s interconnected lake and tank systems, and the watersheds that fed them
- The shift from local water bodies to piped municipal supply
- How urban growth has reshaped the city’s water resources
- Present-day water crises, and what they reveal about planning choices
