BLR Reads – Library and Archive in collaboration with Bangalore Readers Society presents a screening of The Brutalist – A film about ambition, exile, and the quiet weight of creation.
The Brutalist traces the journey of László Tóth, a visionary architect who flees post-war Europe and arrives in America driven by ambition and belief in his craft. What starts as a pursuit of opportunity gradually turns into a deeper struggle with identity, authority, and the personal sacrifices behind creating enduring work.
Directed by Brady Corbet, the film spans decades with a grand narrative scope, blending emotional depth with striking visual storytelling. Adrien Brody leads a compelling cast alongside Felicity Jones and Guy Pearce, portraying the intersection of art, memory, and legacy. Celebrated internationally, the film received the Silver Lion at Venice and multiple Golden Globe nominations.
