SUMMARY:City Shapers Collective
DESCRIPTION:Designing Systems\, Shaping Futures: Rethinking Bengaluru’s Urban Infrastructure \nCity Shapers Collective was launched by Mod Foundation as a long-term initiative examining how design influences Bengaluru’s transformation and future. Conceived as more than a platform for dialogue\, the Collective positions design as an active tool for engaging with the city’s evolving challenges\, bringing together practitioners\, researchers\, policymakers\, and civic actors to collectively imagine pathways for urban change. \nBengaluru today stands at a critical juncture. Rapid growth\, expanding infrastructure demands\, and fragmented institutional systems often make cohesive urban transformation difficult. The City Shapers Collective responds to these complexities by fostering interdisciplinary collaboration\, encouraging systems-led thinking\, and foregrounding design as a bridge between policy\, governance\, and lived experience. \nThe theme for this edition of City Shapers Collective focuses on urban governance\, frameworks\, and systems thinking. This edition explores how cities function through interconnected infrastructure. From water systems & mobility networks to public realm design\, and the ethical and economic dimensions that shape urban development. Rather than viewing these challenges in isolation\, the convening invites the audience to understand the city as a set of overlapping systems requiring collaborative and integrated responses. \nSpeakers:\nSarthak Pradhan | Assistant Professor\, Takshashila Institution\nV. R. Vachana | Assistant Director\, Janaagraha Centre for Citizenship and Democracy\nDr. Gayathri D Naik | Assistant Professor and Co-Director\, CEERA\, National Law School of India University\nPavan Srinath | Managing Partner\, Well Labs \nRSVP Here!
