DESCRIPTION:Coming Unstuck: Creativity Through Noticing invites participants to slow down\, pay closer attention\, and rediscover the delight in ordinary moments through simple practices of noticing. \nIf you’re feeling creatively stuck\, or looking for inspiration on a passion project\, or simply seeking a different way of engaging with the world\, then join us! This workshop is for anyone curious about nurturing their creative practice\, and requires no prior artistic experience. It is open to people of all ages and backgrounds. \nThis workshop is designed to find inspiration by exploring new ways of tuning into our immediate surroundings. Participants will be guided\, through ideas on creativity\, practical prompts\, and exercises\, to access ways to stay engaged in a world in which our attention is a commodity. As Julia Cameron writes\, “The quality of life is in proportion\, always\, to the capacity for delight”. Come join us as we come unstuck by finding the delights contained within everyday life. \nAbout the Facilitator: Nitya Misra \nNitya Misra is a filmmaker and artist from Bangalore and the founder of One By Two Films\, a film studio making creative documentaries. She uses the medium of narrative film to examine supposedly insignificant moments as a way to uncover the extraordinary aspects of everyday life in urban spaces. SUMMARY:The Parallel Cinema Club: On the Silver Globe
DESCRIPTION:On the Silver Globe is a science fiction film directed by Andrzej Żuławski in 1977. One-fifth of the film remains unfinished due to its tumultuous production. The Polish communist government halted production because of the film’s radical themes and forced Żuławski into exile. About a decade later\, he returned and completed the unfinished sections using B-roll footage accompanied by his narration. \nWhile superficially a science fiction film\, the film is deeply philosophical and explores human nature. Astronauts establish a human civilization on an Earth-like planet\, where they eventually create myths around their origins. Marek\, an astronaut who arrives later\, is hailed as their prophesied messiah and is forced to question his humanity within this role. \nThe film explores humanity’s tendency to create myths to understand the absurd\, and how religion can transform from a source of meaning and comfort into a tool for violence\, dogma\, and oppression. Its dense\, theatrical dialogue\, exaggerated acting\, constantly moving camera\, and vast locations reinforce these themes. Despite its unfinished state\, the film remains a powerful work of science fiction and a testament to art’s resilience against oppression. \nThis is a ticketed event. RSVP Here.

SUMMARY:Fiscal Fables: A Citizen's Guide to Public Finance
DESCRIPTION:There is an unending debate on the north-south claims on government money. Every election cycle unmistakably sees a discussion on freebies and corruption. The states and the union continue to have multiple disagreements concerning the Goods and Services Tax. And while Indian cities contribute to the bulk of its GDP\, they are perennially begging for money. \nDiscussions around the topics listed above are now commonplace\, yet they often take place in the absence of a grasp on public finance concepts\, even though this discipline provides a framework to understand the role of a government in the economy. \nThat’s where Fiscal Fables comes in. It demystifies India’s public finances to a lay audience and explains public finance concepts with the help of relatable stories and examples\, to make this vital knowledge accessible to a general interest reader. \nFiscal Fables was written by Pranay Kotasthane and Sarthak Pradhan. \nThis event will consist of the book launch of Fiscal Fables\, followed by a discussion with Pranay and Sarthak about the book\, the idea behind it\, the process and research that went into it and what people should look forward to while reading it.

SUMMARY:Mothers Won't Drown by Linear Festivals
DESCRIPTION:Mothers Won’t Drown explores the physical forces at play in the act of birthing. \n\n\n\nImagining the fluid-based relationship between a fetus and the pregnant mother\, the performer explores the in-between spaces of compassion\, sickness\, nourishment\, resistance\, play\, and ecstasy that characterise the world of the natal. Inspired by the essay The Great Mother by Adriana Cavarero\, the work uses yarn and the act of knitting as metaphors for the umbilical root\, while pointing at the disruptive potential of the vaginal rupture from which a new being is born. \nWho marks our roots? Who decides our thresholds? How do we overcome our boundaries\, our borders? These are the questions ‘Mothers Won’t Drown’ intends to trigger. Using the yarn and knitting as metaphors for the umbilical root\, this performance explores the slippery terrain between the fetus and the pregnant mother\, and invites its audience to wonder\, why the world has more territories but not enough playgrounds. \nAbout the Artists\nMeghna Bhardwaj and Denis Barwa began their collaboration at Frankfurt Lab 2025\, at the end of which they performed a duet choreographed by Meghna titled Mothers Won’t Drown. The work originates in Meghna’s choreographic research Yarning that she began in the year 2021. Currently\, Meghna and Denis continue to work on the solo version of the piece through a distance collaboration between Italy and India. So far\, they have shared the work-in-progress at OddBird Theatre and Khuli Khirkee Mela\, New Delhi. \n\nRSVP HERE. \n\n\n
