SUMMARY:UNDER CONSTRUCTION - BANGALORE IN PROGRESS
DESCRIPTION:This exhibition showcases Bengaluru’s big-budget mobility infrastructure projects—those newly announced\, currently under construction\, completed and long stalled. As our city becomes a landscape of constant building activity\, Bangalore in Progress invites us to question the priorities that shape it: What kind of city is being imagined? Who benefits from these investments? And what does “progress” actually mean for those who live and move through Bengaluru every day?  \nThe extensive funding allocated to mobility infrastructure in Bengaluru overwhelmingly prioritizes movement over liveability\, often overlooking the everyday needs of the people living around or traveling within the city. Flyovers\, metro lines\, and high-speed corridors may promise faster commutes\, but without integrating the social and cultural layers of urban life\, they risk becoming monumental\, disconnected structures—plagued with congestion and devoid of human experience.  \nThis exhibition encourages citizens to step back\, observe the larger picture\, and reflect on how these projects impact their quality of life and the city’s future. Unless mobility projects are designed with people at their centre—prioritizing accessibility\, safety\, and inclusivity—they will fail to create meaningful\, liveable cities.  \nBangalore in Progress explores the city of Bengaluru\, caught in a state of perpetual construction. The exhibition shows a complete picture of what is working\, what is stuck\, and what is still to come\, leaving the audience with questions about the city’s future. Through maps\, visuals\, and crowdsourced data\, Bangalore in Progress encourages us to step back\, observe the larger picture\, and make sense of how mobility projects impact their quality of life and the future of the city.  \nCurated under our thematic InfraCulture – As Indian cities grapple with issues of sustainability\, equity\, and urban liveability\, there is a crucial need to reimagine infrastructure. We advocate for a fundamental shift in both the thinking and planning of infrastructure\, as well as a transformation in the very nature of infrastructure spaces—what we call ‘Infraculture’.  \nInfrastructure shapes the pulse of urban life—dictating movement\, access\, and interaction. Yet\, in its current form\, it often alienates rather than connects. Infraculture challenges this paradigm\, reimagining infrastructure not as a rigid technical system but as a living\, cultural organism  \nEvent is open to all. Guided Walkthroughs at 5:00PM on all exhibition days. \n\n\n	Related
